 – Szczęśliwie znalazłem wsparcie w psychoterapii, która okazała się chyba najlepszą inwestycją, jaką zrobiłem w zeszłym roku. Sama w sobie nie rozwiązała jeszcze problemu, ale pomogła mi znaleźć odwagę, by zrobić pierwszy krok. To, w czym byłem naprawdę dobry, było czekanie. Czekałem na urlop na przykład. W trakcie dwumiesięcznego wypadu na Tajlandię, w przerwie między jedną pracą a drugą, zobaczył ludzi, którzy żyją zupełnie inaczej niż on. Medytują, zdrowo się odżywiają, pracują na swoich warunkach.

– Z tą wizją przed oczami, że można żyć przez 7 dni w tygodniu i nie czekać na weekend, urlop, czy wręcz na emeryturę, jeszcze boleśniej czułem, że mój czas składa się głównie z pracy. OK, z pracy, którą kocham, ale z pracy. Z krótkimi przerwami na życie. A marzyło mi się, żeby żyć. OK, z przerwami na pracę, ale żeby żyć – wspomina.

Życie rzucało w niego inspiracjami, zobaczył post influencerki, która wyjechała na Bali, ale jeszcze się bronił. Miał zobowiązania, etat, za mało pieniędzy. Tak tłumaczył się sam przed sobą. W końcu podjął decyzję i zaczął przygotowania do przeprowadzki. Rzucić wszystko, porzucić pracę w IT i zamieszkać na Bali? Bart na swoim Instagramie udowadnia, że to możliwe.

– Zwłaszcza, jeżeli spotkasz na swojej drodze ludzi, którzy mogą Ci pomóc – dodaje.

Mroczne strony pracy w IT

Każdy zawód ma swoje jasne i mroczne strony, ale chyba żaden nie ma teraz tak potężnego marketingu, jak branża technologiczna. Moi rozmówcy zwracają uwagę na korporacyjne patologie, presję, hermetyczność środowiska, ale każdy z nich napisał swoją własną historię. Praca w IT potrafi być wspaniałą przygodą i świadczą o tym miliony zadowolonych programistów, testerów, grafików i innych osób bardziej lub mniej ściśle związanych z branżą. Jednak ważne, by decyzja o zatrudnieniu wynikała z naszych potrzeb, umiejętności i kompetencji, a nie chwilowej mody.

– Wydaje mi się, że coś musi się jeszcze zmienić, coś na kształt skandynawskiego podejścia, gdzie zasobem jest człowiek, a nie wyniki – podsumowuje Anna Staniszewska i trudno się z nią nie zgodzić.
