Ja, z natury oporny na takie gadżety, dałem się skusić aplikacji płatności za parking (trzeba tylko pamiętać o zaznaczeniu końca parkowania, bo policzą do 20:00), zakupu biletu na podmiejski pociąg oraz aplikacji towarzyszącej nowo zakupionej hybrydzie. Aplikacja ta pamięta o terminach serwisu, wylicza procent czasu ostatniej podróży na silniku elektrycznym oraz ocenia moją dbałość o jazdę ekologiczną (już uzyskałem 98 punktów na 100). Pokazuje też aktualne położenie samochodu, co dla tego modelu – często sobie „pożyczanego” – jest pewną szansą na jego dopilnowanie. Przy czym kłania się też w tym przypadku RODO.

Niedawno wybieraliśmy się w podróż lotniczą i trzeba było się stawić na lotnisku około 5:30 rano. Dotychczas wieczorem dzwoniłem do jednej z korporacji i zamawiałem taxi na 5:00, bo do lotniska mamy około 4 km. Teraz też zadzwoniłem i dowiedziałem się, że zmieniły się zasady i zamówienie można złożyć dopiero na godzinę przed jazdą. Zacząłem szukać telefonu innej korporacji, ale u wszystkich zamawianie taxi jest tylko przez aplikację. No to zdecydowałem się jedną z nich zainstalować. Zainstalowała się, ale równocześnie zainstalowała się aplikacja wynajmu hulajnóg oraz poleciła zainstalowanie aplikacji korzystania z transportu w Irlandii. Uczciwie też poinformowała, że moje dane, takie jak położenie, dane użytkownika, kontaktowe i finansowe, historia wyszukiwania, dokonywane zakupy itd., mogą być użyte do mojego śledzenia w aplikacjach i witrynach używanych przez inne firmy. Ups…

No ale trudno, muszę mieć tę taxi na rano. Spróbowałem ją więc zamówić na 5:00. Wybrałem lepszą wersję auta i wciskam ZAMAWIAM. W odpowiedzi dostaję komunikat, że tego zamówienia nie możemy zrealizować, bo nie ma akurat tych aut. Druga próba – zwykłe taxi na 5:00. ZAMAWIAM. W odpowiedzi – taxi może być podstawione między 5:00 a 5:20. Za późno, rezygnuję i trzecia próba na 4:50. Zaakceptowane. Poszedłem spać, a rano o 5:00 dowiedziałem się, że zlecenie nie zostało zatwierdzone. Pewnie zostałem przez ich sztuczną inteligencję oceniony jako mało poważny klient, który aż trzy razy składa i odwołuje zamówienia. Pobiegliśmy do autobusu. A dawniej jak się taxi nie pojawiało, wystarczył telefon do dyspozytora i udawało się ją odnaleźć, bo kierowca pomylił uliczki. Za to teraz jest nowocześnie.

Tak wiem, że marudzę, bo większość już używa wielu aplikacji i je sobie ceni. Cały telefon jest nimi wypełniony, aż brakuje pamięci. A sprawa śledzenia jest jakoś mało istotna. No dobrze, jeśli dla was te aplikacje są wygodne i pożyteczne – wasza wola. Oby tylko prezes (tak – ten prezes) ich wam nie ograniczył.

A teraz załóżmy, oczywiście hipotetycznie, że gdzieś i jakoś tracimy nasz smartfon. Jeszcze istnieje nadzieja, że dzwoniąc do niego z pożyczonego telefonu usłyszymy go, albo też go zlokalizujmy z witryny komputera. Ale jak upadnie, rozbije się, wpadnie do wody, do klozetu (sorry, to częsty przypadek) – po prostu staje się nieużyteczny. Jeszcze gorzej jak nam go wyrwą z ręki, ukradną. Według szacunków w USA aż 113 komórek jest gubionych lub kradzionych w każdej minucie. W UK od 2007 roku zaginęło ponad 100 milionów smartfonów, z czego tylko 7 proc. wróciło do właścicieli. W Polsce ginie lub jest kradzionych kilkaset tysięcy. Młodzi użytkownicy tracą średnio smartfon raz na rok, ci 25+ średnio co 3 lata, powyżej 35 co 4 lata, a seniorzy raptem jeden w swoim długim życiu.

Z utratą telefonu tracimy cząstkę życia. Nawet nie możemy zadzwonić z innego aparatu do Misi czy Kociaczka, bo nie znamy ich numerów. Nie możemy się autoryzować w elektronicznym dostępie do konta, lekarza, urzędnika. Nie możemy dokonywać opłat i zapłaty za towary i usługi, ani pobrać pieniędzy. Tracimy wszystkie aplikacje i benefity przez nich oferowane. A najgorszą (nieprawdaż?) tragedią jest brak uczestnictwa w mediach społecznościowych. Po prostu zgroza. Co robić?

Pierwszym krokiem powinien być zakup zwykłej komórki z kosza w sklepie za jakieś 100 zł. Potem u operatora trzeba uzyskać SIM z naszym numerem z jednoczesną blokadą tegoż numeru w straconym smartfonie. Mając numer IMEI tegoż smartfona możemy go też całkowicie wyłączyć z użytkowania. Następnie staramy się odtworzyć listę najważniejszych kontaktów, szczególnie że mogą być one potrzebne do zebrania funduszu na nowy smartfon… Robimy też weryfikację, jakie z dotychczasowych użyteczności z naszego już byłego smartfona możemy realizować posługując się esemesami lub bezpośrednim kontaktem. Potem idziemy kupić nowy smartfon, taki na jaki nas akurat stać. Chociaż STOP – a może to co mamy jest dla nas wystarczające? Nie potrzebujemy tych widżetów, a i bateria dłużej trzyma moc oraz tej komórki nie można zhakować ani precyzyjnie zlokalizować. A jeżeli już musicie mieć te aplikacje, to może tylko te rzeczywiście użyteczne. Przecież wiele z tych zainstalowanych uprzednio użyliście tylko raz, dwa razy. I życie będzie spokojniejsze.
