]]> Niemiecki producent rozwiązań do zarządzania urządzeniami końcowymi – baramundi software, został kupiony przez Wittenstein SE, dostawcę systemów elektromechanicznych. Zajmuje się ona także robotami, narzędziami, techniką medyczną. Jej obroty przekraczają 300 mln euro rocznie. Wartość transakcji nie została ujawniona.

Baramundi powstała w 2000 r. Zatrudnia ponad 140 pracowników. W ostatnich latach jej obroty rosły o ponad 20 proc. rocznie. Nadal pozostanie odrębną firmą.

Połączenie przedsiębiorstw działających w branży techniki napędowej i pomiarowej oraz w sektorze IT ma zapewnić im obopólne, długofalowe korzyści. 

Baramundi liczy, że akwizycja umożliwi inwestycje w dywersyfikację produktów i ekspansję na światowych rynkach.
  
„Będziemy mogli poszerzyć naszą działalność o nowe obszary, takie jak Internet rzeczy i czwarta rewolucja przemysłowa.” – twierdzi Uwe Beikirch, członek zarządu baramundi software.

Z kolei celem Wittensteina jest przede wszystkim podłączenie do sieci włąsnych produktów i rozwiązań z obszaru techniki napędowej i pomiarowej, czyli możliwość wykorzystania ich w systemach IoT do gromadzenia i analizy danych.
