]]> Nowe złącza umożliwiają prędkość transferu rzędu 10 Gb/s, czyli nawet dwukrotnie większą niż USB 3.0. Wszystkie modele kart USB 3.1 typu A będą wstecznie kompatybilne z poprzednimi standardami USB.

Nowe rozwiązania wykorzystują technologię Asus USB 3.1 Boost, która w testach pozwoliła na uzyskanie prędkości rzędu 854,6/863,9 MB/s.

W porty USB 3.1 typu A (dostęp do łączności 10 Gb/s) zostanie wyposażonych 12 modeli płyt głównych. Nazwy produktów z dwoma złączami oznaczono „/USB 3.1”, np. X99-Pro/USB 3.1.

Karty rozszerzeń Asus USB 3.1 współpracują ze złączami PCIe x4 i wyższymi. Przyspieszają transfer danych do 10 Gb/s. Dostępne będą w dwóch wariantach – z dwoma gniazdami typu A lub jednym portem typu C. Karty można podłączyć do płyt z chipsetem X99 i Z97, a wkrótce także do innych modeli, dzięki aktualizacji BIOSu i sterowników.

Karta USB 3.1 typu A (podwójna) jest dołączona do płyt głównych z oznaczeniem ‘/U3.1’  — Rampage V Extreme/U3.1 i X99-Deluxe/U3.1. Karty USB 3.1 typu A (podwójne) i typu C (pojedyncze) będą również dostępne w sprzedaży jako osobny produkt.   

Płyty główne i karty Asusa z USB 3.1 będą dostępne w Polsce pod koniec marca br. Firma nie podała cen.
