]]> Fundusze venture capital w ubiegłym roku zasiliły kwotą  3,1 mld rekordową liczbę 279 startupów opracowujących systemy przeznaczone do ochrony zasobów informatycznych, zaś rok wcześniej  3,7 mld dolarów  trafiło do 272 startupów – informuje agencja badawcza CB Insights. To znaczny postęp w porównaniu ze wcześniejszymi latami. Dla przykładu w 2010 roku 117 startupów otrzymało od funduszy 833 mln dolarów. 

Na rynku działają  fundusze venture capital dofinansowujące  firmy związane z branżą bezpieczeństwa IT,  takie jak np. Trident Capital Cybersecurity, który przeznaczył na ten cel 300 mln dolarów. W podobny sposób działają Allegis Capital i Tenoleven Ventures.

Z raportu Risk Based Security wynika, że w ubiegłym roku hakerzy wykradli  4,2 mld rekordów – o 3,1 mld więcej niż w 2013 roku. To sprawia, że koncerny wydają coraz więcej pieniędzy na systemy bezpieczeństwa. Budżety przeznaczone na tego typu rozwiązania rosną dwukrotnie szybciej aniżeli na  zakup pozostałej infrastruktury teleinformatycznej. Według IDC w 2020 roku wydatki przedsiębiorstw na produkty do ochrony danych i sieci wyniosą 101, 6 mld dolarów.
