]]> Start producenta w nowy rok finansowy 2016 nie był udany. W I kwartale, zakończonym 31 lipca, NetApp wypracował 1,34 mld dol. przychodów wobec 1,49 mld dol. rok wcześniej. Co więcej, miał stratę netto – 30 mln dol., podczas gdy w analogicznym kwartale poprzedniego roku był zysk wielkości 88 mln dol.

Nowy CEO, George Kurian, który objął stanowsko na początku czerwca (zastąpił wieloletniego szefa, Toma Georgensa), ma wyprowadzić firmę na prostą. Jego zdaniem cała branża IT przechodzi transformację. “Jej centrum są dane i w tym obszarze NetApp odegra kluczową rolę” – obiecuje szef firmy. Uważa, że spółka zbudowała już podstawy przyszłego rozwoju, rozpoczynając restrukturyzację, której celem była obniżka kosztów. Ponadto mimo topniejących obrotów niektóre produkty sprzedają się znakomicie. Są to zwłaszcza macierze All Flash (+137 proc. rok do roku). Według niego I kwartał roku finansowego oznacza „początek nowego rozdziału dla NetAppa”. W następnej fazie według CEO firma ma nadal się zmieniać, by wyjść naprzeciw oczekiwaniom użytkowników.

W II kw. finansowym 2016 NetApp spodziewa się 1,4-1,5 mld dol. przychodów.
