Poinformowano jedynie, że decyzja nie jest skutkiem jakiegoś wydarzenia czy nieprawidłowości. Komunikat w tej sprawie zaskoczył analityków i inwestorów (akcje spółki potaniały o 10 proc.), ponieważ producent jest w fazie transformacji, w której kluczową rolę odgrywał odwołany szef. W IV kw. ub.r. (do 27 grudnia) Symantec miał przychody niższe o 6 proc. niż rok wcześniej (3,59 mld dol.). W opinii Steve’a Bennetta spadek był związany częściowo z reorganizacją zespołu zajmującego się sprzedażą – wyspecjalizowani menedżerowie mają koncentrować się na określonych grupach produktów. Zysk jednak wzrósł o 31 proc. (do 283 mln dol.), a poziom marży operacyjnej zdaniem byłego szefa przekroczył oczekiwania (23,8 proc.). W I kw. br. Symantec oczekuje dalszego spadku przychodów i marży na poziomie 18-19,5 proc. (rok temu – 14,6 proc.).

Firma zamierza osiągnąć 5 proc. wzrostu organicznego, a marża operacyjna ma zwiększyć się powyżej 30 proc. do 2017 r., ale zdaniem jednego z analityków cytowanego przez Reutersa niełatwo będzie osiągnąć ten cel bez przejęć.

biznesową. Ma zostać ujawniona w ciągu najbliższych miesięcy. Na stanowisku głównego
niezależnego członka zarządu znalazł się Dan Schulman. Według niego zmiana w
zarządzie firmy nie jest wynikiem jakichś nieprawidłowości, ale nastąpiła w
