]]> Według Mozilli inicjatywę wprowadzenia urządzeń Otwartej Sieci wesprze 18 głównych operatorów. Polska znalazła się w pierwszej grupie 9 krajów, w których będą  sprzedawane smartfony z Firefox OS. Urządzenia z Firefox OS będą wyposażone w procesory Qualcomm Snapdragon. Mają umożliwić dostęp online do treści i usług. W systemie Mozilli aplikacje są dostępne z przeglądarki. Według zapowiedzi spora ich część ma być bezpłatna. Standard Otwartej Sieci umożliwia opracowywanie każdej funkcji w postaci aplikacji HTML5.
