Do przeszukań doszło w całej Polsce.

]]> Ze wstępnych ustaleń wynika, że poprzez piracką stronę internetową rozpowszechniono ponad 6,3 tys. filmów i ponad 4 tys. gier i programów komputerowych. Z serwisu korzystało dziennie kilka tysięcy internatów. Nielegalna wymiana odbywała się w ten sposób, iż filmy, gry i aplikacje były umieszczane na różnych serwerach, a następnie na jednym z forów internetowych pojawiały się linki.

Przed świętami policja dokonała w tej sprawie 12 przeszukań w Polsce. KWP w Lublinie, która zdemaskowała piratów, prowadziła czynności w Lublinie, Białej Podlaskiej i Rykach. Ustalono administratorów nielegalnego przedsięwzięcia – są to mężczyźni pochodzący z Warszawy i Polkowic. To właśnie oni zarabiali na prowadzeniu serwisu, który był przeznaczony wyłącznie do wymiany nielegalnych kopii filmów, gier i innych programów. W trakcie przeszukań policja zabezpieczyła łącznie 18 komputerów, 16 dysków twardych i ponad 630 płyt DVD i CD z pirackimi kopiami. Czynności prowadzono wraz z pracownikami Fundacji Ochrony Twórczości Audiowizualnej.

Według KWP w Lublinie sprawa ma charakter rozwojowy. Trwa szacowanie strat, jakie poniosły firmy, producenci i dystrybutorzy programów i filmów. Piratom grozi kara do 5 lat pozbawienia wolności.
