Jak pisze Rzeczpospolita, Waymo zarzuca Anthony'emu Levandowskiemu, byłemu inżynierowi zespołu Google'a ds. autonomicznej jazdy, kierującemu obecnie działem Ubera ds. autonomicznych pojazdów oraz dwóm innym byłym pracownikom Google’a kradzież dokumentów dotyczących rozwiązań umożliwiających funkcjonowanie autonomicznego pojazdu.

Przedstawiciele koncernu zdecydowali się na złożenie pozwu mimo tego, że Alphabet jest inwestorem Ubera. Zdaniem Financial Times, na razie jednak nie wiadomo, czy Uber rzeczywiście korzysta z technologii, o których wykradzenie jest podejrzewany. Jego autonomiczne pojazdy jeżdżą już po ulicach Pittsburgha i Tempe.
