Kara za te praktyki jest najwyższa, jaką Federalna Komisja Handlu nałożyła dotąd na pojedynczą firmę. Regulator nie miał respektu dla giganta m.in. dlatego, że Google złamał wcześniejsze zobowiązanie, że nie będzie śledzić internautów, którzy sobie tego nie życzą.
