Cloud Computingu. Współpraca ma dotyczyć edukacji studentów i doktorantów oraz badań naukowych.

]]> Według Paweła Paneckiego, dyrektora działu oprogramowania IBM, nowo powołany ośrodek 'będzie rozwijać nowe programy edukacyjne z wykorzystaniem obecnych i powstających technologii’. W ramach współdziałania z koncernem oferta Politechniki Wrocławskiej zostanie wzbogacona o ponad 10 kursów, przeznaczonych dla 1500 studentów. Będą oni zdobywać wiedzę na bazie technologii IBM, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem rozwiązań cloud computingu. Pierwsze zajęcia zaplanowano jeszcze tego lata – uczelnia zamierza rozpocząć wdrażanie nowych programów edukacyjnych praktykami dla ponad 500 studentów. Powstanie również program naukowy związany z cloud computingiem w oparciu o rozwiązania IBM Tivoli.

Politechnika Wrocławska jest pierwszą uczelnią w kraju, która podjęła współpracę z IBM w ramach programu Wielozadaniowego Centrum ds. Cloud Computing (Multipurpose Cloud Computing Center). Jest to inicjatywa globalna, powołana w tym roku, przeznaczona dla ośrodków akademickich.
Centrum to kolejne przedsięwzięcie IBM we Wrocławiu. W zeszłym roku IBM i rząd RP zawarły umowę o współpracy przy tworzeniu Zintegrowanego Centrum Dostarczania Usług IBM w tym mieście (IBM IT Service Delivery Center). IBM współpracuje również z Wrocławskim Centrum Badań EIT+ nad rozwojem badań naukowych w dziedzinie nano- i biotechnologii oraz inteligentnych systemów.
