]]> Policjanci zwalczający przestępczość gospodarczą oraz cyberprzestępczość z opolskiej komendy wojewódzkiej, we współpracy z kryminalnymi z Olesna wykryli nielegalne oprogramowanie w dwóch firmach w gminach Olesno i Praszka. Straty dostawców programów oszacowano na 32 tys. zł. Zatrzymano dwie osoby. Grozi im do 5 lat pozbawienia wolności. Opolska policja nie raz informowała już o namierzeniu piratów. Jedna z najbardziej spektakularnych akcji miała miejsce w Namysłowie w 2013 r., gdzie znaleziono kopie utworów i programów warte zdaniem policji 4 mln zł.

Według danych BSA wzrasta liczba nielegalnego oprogramowania wykrytego w firmach. W 2013 r. znaleziono je u 351 przedsiębiorców. Suma odszkodowań, jakie zapłacili właścicielom praw autorskich, wyniosła 1,6 mln zł. Wzrasta liczba powiadomień o przedsiębiorcach – piratach: w 2011 r. BSA otrzymało ich 482, w 2012 r. – 637, a w 2013 r. – 771.
