]]> Seria została oznaczona literą U (od Ultra Short Throw, co oznacza projekcję z bardzo bliska) i składa się z czterech modeli: U250X o rozdzielczości XGA i jasności 2500 ANSI lumenów, U260W (WXGA, 2600 ANSI lumenów), U300X (XGA, 3000 ANSI lumenów), U310W (WXGA, 3100 ANSI lumenów). Według producenta mogą one wyświetlać obraz z odległości mniejszej niż 25 cm od tablicy interaktywnej o przekątnej 77-87 cali.

Wszystkie urządzenia serii U mają układ optyczny DLP, przed obiektywem dodatkowo zamontowano lustro, które odbija obraz. Kontrast obrazu wynosi 2000:1, a częstotliwość odświeżania do 120 Hz. Projektory mają opcje korekcji koloru ściany oraz kształtu obrazu w pionie i poziomie (w celu uniknięcia tzw. efektu trapezowego). We wszystkich modelach serii U żywotność lampy w trybie ECO sięga 4 tys. godzin, a filtr powietrza trzeba wymieniać co 5 tys. godzin. Urządzenia wyposażono w wejścia HDMI, dwa wejścia i jedno wyjście D-Sub oraz port RJ45. Funkcja Virtual Remote umożliwia sterowanie projektorem bezpośrednio z komputera poprzez sieć lokalną lub złącza VGA. Projektory mogą wyświetlać obraz 3D.

NEC U250X oraz U310W będą dostępne w połowie grudnia br., natomiast modele U260W i U300X trafią do sprzedaży na początku 2011 roku.

Sugerowane ceny detaliczne netto: U250X  – 4,6 tys. zł, U260W – 4849 zł, U300X – 5,1 tys. zł, U310W – 5,4 tys. zł. Gwarancja: 3 lata w systemie door-to-door na urządzenie, 6 miesięcy na lampę (lub 1 tys. godzin). Szkoły mogą za darmo poszerzyć gwarancję na lampę do 3 lat (lub 2 tys. godzin).
