]]> Toshiba przygotowuje się do sprzedaży swojego biznesu inteligentnych liczników – według nieoficjalnych informacji Reutersa. Zajmuje się nim szwajcarska spółka zależna Landis+Gyr. Japońska korporacja ma w niej 60 proc. udziałów. Liczy, że uzyska za nie 2 mld dol. W tym biznesie było ostatnio sporo przejęć, ze względu na zainteresowanie dostawców energii lepszym zarządzaniem produkcją i dystrybucją oraz obniżką kosztów. Landis+Gyr działa w ponad 30 krajach. Roczne obroty firmy wynoszą ok. 1,6 mld dol. Toshiba kupiła kontrolny pakiet w spółce za 2,3 mld dol. w 2011 r. Mniejszościowym udziałowcem jest państwowy japoński fundusz. 

Koncern wyprzedaje swoje aktywa, aby zmniejszyć dużą stratę, na jaką zanosi się na koniec roku finansowego (31 marca br.). Amerykańska spółka zależna Toshiby – Westinghouse – jest 6,3 mld dol. na minusie ze względu na nieudane inwestycje. Japońska firma próbuje zbilansować budżet także poprzez sprzedaż swojego działu pamięci – Storage & Electronic Devices Solutions. Gotowa jest nawet zbyć w całości najbardziej dochodowy biznes w korporacji za ok. 9 mld dol. Ostatnio Foxconn potwierdził zainteresowanie zakupem działu pamięci. Wśród potencjalnych nabywców wymienia się także WD, Hyniksa i Microna.
