W latach 2000-2001 był członkiem rady nadzorczej Przedsiębiorstwa Energetyki Cieplnej w Rudzie Śląskiej. Ukończył studia doktoranckie na Wydziale Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Śląskiego.
