]]> Rynek zarządzania dokumentami (ECM – Enterprise Content Management) w 2012 r. będzie wart na świecie ponad 66,27 mld dol. – prognozuje Statista. Dla porównania w 2017 r. jego wartość wyniosła 33,4 mld dol. Zanosi się więc na rosnący przez najbliższe lata popyt na rozwiązania do zarządzania obiegiem dokumentów, na co wskazują także badania rynkowe. Według danych organizacji AIIM (Association for Information and Image Management) 42 proc. przedsiębiorstw codziennie zmaga się z problemem nieefektywnego przetwarzania dokumentów w formie papierowej. Przy tym 70 proc. uskarża się na zbyt długi czas poświęcany na wyszukiwanie konkretnych treści. Częstym przypadkiem jest również zaginięcie istotnej dla firmy dokumentacji – szacunkowo może to dotyczyć nawet 7,5 proc. wszystkich dokumentów w przedsiębiorstwach.

Z drugiej strony 56 proc. pytanych chciałoby zautomatyzować i usystematyzować proces klasyfikowania dokumentów w firmach, aby ułatwić ich późniejsze wyszukiwanie. Warto także podkreślać korzyści: oszczędność miejsca dzięki cyfryzacji papierów, oszczędność czasu na wyszukiwanie treści, spadek kosztów (tańsza w utrzymaniu infrastruktura), poprawa bezpieczeństwa danych (co jest szczególnie aktualne w związku z RODO).
