]]> Prokuratura w Korei Płd. zarzuca szefowi Samsung Group i faktycznemu liderowi Samsung Electronics, Jay L. Lee, że wręczył ponad 36 mln dol. łapówki organizacji powiązanej z przyjaciółką prezydenta kraju, która jest w centrum całej afery. Pieniądze zdaniem śledczych miały pomóc we wsparciu fuzji dwóch spółek z grupy – Samsung C&T Corp and Cheil Industries Inc. Samsung otrzymał na ten cel 8 mld dol. z państwowych środków.

"Sytuacja ekonomiczna kraju jest ważna, ale sprawiedliwość ma priorytet" – tak skomentował prokurator kroki podjęte wobec szefa największej korporacji w kraju. Cała grupa wypracowuje 230 mld dol. rocznych obrotów, czyli ma 17 proc. udziału w gospodarce Korei. W tym Samsung Electronics, największa spółka grupy, osiągnął w 2015 r. 166 mld dol. przychodów.

Prokurator twierdzi, że ma dowody, iż Jay L. Lee oraz szefowa fundacji dzielili się zyskami osiągniętymi dzięki wpłacie. Samsung zaprzecza wszystkim zarzutom. "Trudno zrozumieć decyzję prokuratora" – oświadczyła korporacja.
