W przedsięwzięciu biorą udział polskie serwisy.

]]> Strony internetowe w protokole IPv6 udostępni ponad 400 firm, w tym światowi giganci jak Google, Facebook, Yahoo!, YouTube, Microsoft, Cisco. Do akcji przyłączyły się także polskie serwisy gry.pl, www.home.pl i www.xadmi.pl. Test rozpocznie się 8 czerwca o godzinie 2 w nocy czasu polskiego i potrwa 24 godziny. Z serwisami uczestniczącymi w teście będzie można łączyć się zarówno w IPv4, jak i IPv6. Jeżeli dostawca Internetu przystosował połączenie do IPv6, użytkownik połączy się z serwisem w nowym protokole.

Współorganizatorem akcji jest stowarzyszenie Internet Society, które chce zwrócić uwagę na niewielkie dostosowanie zasobów Internetu do protokołu IPv6 mimo wyczerpania puli adresów IPv4 (darmowe adresy przydzielane przez organizację IANA skończyły się w lutym br.). Jak na razie – według home.pl – tylko 0,4 proc. stron WWW jest dostępnych w IPv6.

Na stronie Internet Society można znaleźć listę serwisów internetowych, przystosowanych do standardu IPv6 i zgłoszonych w organizacji (http://www.worldipv6day.org/ipv6-enabled-websites/index.html). Wśród blisko 800 witryn jest także nieliczna polska reprezentacja.
