W I kw. 2014 r. w przypadku urządzeń klasyfikowanych jako sprzęt dla ovelockerów wyniósł ok. 50 proc. rok do roku, a w I kw. 2015 r. – już ok. 100 proc. Jak zauważają analitycy, producenci dostrzegli znaczenie tego segmentu i dostosowują do niego strategie marketingowe. Sprzęt dla overlockerów jest pozycjonowany wyżej niż modele dla graczy, dla których konkurencją są konsole.

W przeciwieństwie do segmentu najpopularniejszych desktopów, a także urządzeń dla graczy, rosną ceny modeli dla entuzjastów – w I kw. 2015 r. średnia stawka za PC zaliczany do tego segmentu wyniosła według HWinsights 1050 euro (ok. 4335 zł), tj. o 70 euro (ok. 290 zł) więcej niż w poprzednim kwartale. Ceny urządzeń z najwyższej półki sięgały 2610 euro (ok. 10880 zł), co oznacza wzrost o 225 euro (ok. 930 zł). To wielokrotnie więcej niż ceny desktopów dla graczy, które określono najwyżej na 1200 euro (ok. 4950 zł).

Rynek produktów dla overlockerów, oprócz rosnącej sprzedaży i coraz wyższych cen ma jeszcze inną zaletę dla dostawców – krótki cykl wymiany. O ile w przypadku urządzeń dla graczy użytkownicy wymieniają swoje komputery co 2-3 generacje sprzętu, to overlockerzy chcą mieć zawsze najnowsze i najlepsze rzeczy. Na popycie na najwydajniejsze modele mogą skorzystać sprzedawcy komponentów z najwyższej półki (procesorów, kart graficznych, płyt głównych, pamięci).
