]]> Zmiana dotyczy systemów Windows 7 i Windows 8 w ramach licencji wolumenowych EA (Enterprise Agreement). Wejdzie w życie 1 grudnia. Mianowicie oferta dla organizacji, które mają do 250 stanowisk, zostanie poszerzona o pakiet o nazwie Enterprise Cloud Suite (ECS), obejmujący Office 365, Enterprise Mobility Suite oraz Windows licencjonowany na użytkownika: Windows Software Assurance per User. To zupełnie nowy sposób oferowania systemu. Do tej pory Windows był licencjonowany tylko na urządzenie. Np. klienci, którzy chcieli uzyskać dostęp do desktopów wirtualnych z iPada albo sprzętu z Androidem, musieli kupować Companion Device License (CDL). Wkrótce nie będzie to potrzebne – mając Windows Software Assurance per User można używać systemu Microsoftu także z urządzeń z iOS-em i Androidem.

Zmiana jest związana z nową strategią Microsoftu – jego produkty mają działać na różnych urządzeniach, z różnymi systemami. Opcja korzystania z Windowsa licencjonowanego na użytkownika jest jednak ograniczona – można go używać tylko w firmach w ramach planów licencji wolumenowych.
