Dodano ponad 150 nowych funkcji, m.in. ulepszono opcje personalizacji i kompatybilność z tabletami i smartphonami.

]]> Do wszystkich edycji nowego XenDesktopa dodano opcję „Personal vDisk”, zakupioną w tym miesiącu od firmy RingCube. Nowa funkcja przechowuje centralnie pojedynczą kopię systemu Windows i łączy ją z osobistym dyskiem wirtualnym zawierającym aplikacje, dane oraz ustawienia każdego użytkownika. Przyspieszono (według producenta nawet trzykrotnie) dostarczanie desktopów wirtualnych przez sieć WAN do użytkowników mobilnych i pracowników oddziałów firm. Jak zapewnia Citrix, druk i skanowanie są nawet 6 razy szybsze. Poprawiono jakość głosu i wideo. Aplikacje i desktopy można dostarczać m.in. do komputerów Mac, tabletów, smartphonów i terminali. XenApp 6.5 został zintegrowany z XenDesktop 5.5. Zwiększono kompatybilność z produktami Microsoftu.

Sugerowane ceny XenDesktop 5.5 zaczynają się od 95 dol. za użytkownika lub urządzenie w przypadku edycji obsługującej tylko model VDI. Wersja Enterprise kosztuje 225 dol., a  Platinum – 350 dol.
