Blockchain ma umożliwić śledzenie dziesiątków milionów kontenerów na całym globie co usprawni zarządzanie ich transportem. Digitalizacji mają być poddane całe łańcuchy dostaw – od punktu do punktu.

Maersk podaje, że dostarczenie ładunku ze wschodniej Afryki do Europy wymaga zaangażowania ok. trzydziestu osób i organizacji. Z jego obsługą wiąże się około 200 różnych procesów i komunikatów.
