Zarzucano im udział w zorganizowanej grupie przestępczej, poświadczenie nieprawdy i pranie brudnych pieniędzy. Bestcom miał jakoby sprowadzać fikcyjnie urządzenia z zagranicy i fałszować faktury. Po aresztowaniu właścicieli (spędzili za kratkami 9 miesięcy) firma padła, ale w ub. roku po ponad 6 latach śledztwa prokuratura umorzyła sprawę. Jacek Karaban i Robert Nowak nie wykluczają, że będą także domagać się odszkodowania za utracone korzyści. Zdaniem byłego prezesa Bestcomu, gdyby firma nie upadła, obecnie mogłaby robić miliard złotych obrotu rocznie.
