Pozwoli ona producentom samochodów na rozwijanie oraz stosowanie modułu Secure Communication Unit (SCU lub Car Gateway) w swoich pojazdach, z użyciem dodatkowych komponentów dopasowanych do własnych planów produkcyjnych. Celem prac jest dostarczenie oprogramowania, które będzie uwzględniało cyberbezpieczeństwo pojazdów już na etapie projektowania.
