Na ogół użytkownicy domowi i właściciele mikrobiznesów bardzo rzadko zwracają uwagę na markę, jakość, a nawet funkcjonalność zasilacza awaryjnego. Dla nich liczy się przede wszystkim cena.

Obok najbardziej zaawansowanych produktów, znajdziemy najprostsze modele, które realizują podstawowe funkcje. Takie modele najczęściej znajdują zastosowanie w segmencie SOHO. – Obawiam się, że w przypadku tych urządzeń będziemy mieli do czynienia ze stagnacją i brakiem innowacji. Myślę, że pomimo tymczasowego przestoju na rynku fotowoltaiki, pędzące ceny energii przyczynią się do rozwoju inwerterów solarnych, a co za tym idzie banków energii dla gospodarstw domowych – mówi Bartłomiej Kołodziej.

Użytkownicy SOHO wybierają modele z akumulatorami kwasowo-ołowiowymi, aczkolwiek zaczynają się pojawiać pytania o urządzenia z bateriami litowo-jonowymi. Mają one dłuższą żywotność i czas podtrzymania oraz niższe koszty posiadania aniżeli zasilacze awaryjne z bateriami VRLA. Jednak takie modele są wciąż za drogie dla małych firm i gospodarstw domowych. Wiele przemawia za tym, że baterie litowo-jonowe jednak zawitają pod strzechy, zaś inne, mniej znaczące zmiany, związane będą z miniaturyzacją sprzętu czy monitorowaniem zasilacza za pośrednictwem chmury.

Z kolei klienci poruszający się w sektorach nietechnicznych poszukują doradztwa, w tym informacji wyjaśniających zasady działania oraz oczekują pomocy w doborze rozwiązań dostosowanych do ich potrzeb. Ta grupa nie zwraca uwagi na marki, lecz kieruje się własnymi możliwościami w zakresie funkcjonalnym i finansowym. Przy czym nie jest tak, że użytkownicy SOHO przy wyborze UPS-a kierują się wyłącznie ceną. Ich oczekiwania często dotyczą cichej pracy, wymiarów oraz funkcjonalności.
