Na zmiany widoczne w procesach rekrutacyjnych w branży IT mocno wpłynęła także – co oczywiste – pandemia. Dwa lata ograniczeń w życiu społecznym i zawodowym przyczyniły się do zmian postaw i po stronie pracowników, i pracodawców: z jednej strony ludzie potrzebują więcej kontaktu, z drugiej są gotowi na bardziej elastyczne formy pracy i nie chcą już z nich rezygnować.

W wielu firmach dopiero pandemia pokazała pracodawcom realne znaczenie działu IT, który choć często fizycznie nieobecny w biurze czy zakładzie, na zapleczu wykonuje niezwykle ważną pracę dla sprawnego funkcjonowania firmy. Okazało się też, że praca zdalna jest możliwa również w innych działach, oraz  że bez codziennego wsparcia specjalistów IT byłoby to niewykonalne, co zrodziło większe ich docenienie.

Ostatnie dwa lata zweryfikowały też mocno konieczność posiadania przez firmy sprawnych systemów, a także zadbania o bezpieczeństwo i sposób przechowywania ogromnych ilości danych. To spowodowało prawdziwy boom, jeśli chodzi o zapotrzebowanie na specjalistów IT: przede wszystkim programistów, specjalistów z obszaru rozwiązań chmurowych, ale także tych z zakresu security. To jedna z przyczyn, dla których notujemy tak wyraźny wzrost wynagrodzeń w tym sektorze. Jak wynika z badań Michael Page, na przestrzeni ostatniego roku wynoszący średnio 30–40 proc., a w przypadku stanowisk seniorskich nawet 50 proc. Nic nie wskazuje na to, żeby ten trend miał osłabnąć – specjaliści IT są oceniani dwa razy do roku i na tej podstawie weryfikowane są ich zarobki adekwatnie do rynku. Często otrzymują podwyżkę co sześć miesięcy.

Okiem rekrutera Michael Page, jako firma specjalizująca się w rekrutacji, stale i szeroko doskonali swoje umiejętności, bo w przypadku IT oprócz typowych kwalifikacji oczekiwanych od rekruterów, w grę wchodzi również odpowiednie przygotowanie techniczne. Musimy odróżniać języki programowania, wiedzieć, że oznaczenie c# to nie „c hash” tylko „c sharp”, a Java to nie to samo co JavaScript. Jeśli rekruter nie zna takich podstawowych pojęć, rozmowa z kandydatem skończy się, zanim jeszcze się zacznie. Dziś w negocjacjach liczy się każdy detal, bo niedobory są tak ogromne, że gdyby nagle w Polsce pojawiło się skądś 80 tys. programistów, to znaleźliby pracę od ręki. Dlatego konieczność rozwijania się w różnych kierunkach, zarówno tych specjalistycznych, jak i miękkich dotyczy obu stron. Najpierw musimy znaleźć wspólny język, by się porozumieć, a potem przedstawić kandydatowi ofertę, która jest skrojona na miarę jego kompetencji i oczekiwań.

Powszechna automatyzacja i cyfryzacja procesów, pandemia, a nawet tragedia wojenna Ukrainy, która pokazała, jak istotne dla świata są rozwiązania IT – to wszystko wpływa na poziom niedoborów, jeśli chodzi o specjalistów z tej branży. Według amerykańskiego biura statystycznego US Labor brakuje ich w skali globalnej aż 40 mln (czyli mniej więcej tyle, ilu obywateli liczy cała Polska), a do 2030 r. ta liczba może się podwoić (odpowiednik populacji Niemiec). W dodatku, jak wynika z badania bulldogjob.pl, znakomita większość zatrudnionych jest usatysfakcjonowana swoją pracą, co utrudnia przekonanie ich do zmiany – zadowolonych z pracy jest 45 proc. badanych, a bardzo zadowolonych 27 proc. – co stanowi wzrost o 3 punkty procentowe w stosunku do roku 2021. Dlatego też rynek ten od dłuższego już czasu jest rynkiem kandydata. Trend będzie się nasilał, co stanowi dla rekruterów ogromne wyzwanie i wymaga od nich coraz większej determinacji, wiedzy oraz pasji do pracy, którą wykonują.
