Producent wprowadził na rynek Sentinel DX4000 - pamięć masową z systemem Microsoft Storage Server 2008 Essentials i procesorem Intel Atom D525. Urządzenie umożliwia automatyczne tworzenie kopii zapasowych.
DX4000 to scentralizowana współdzielona pamięć masowa, z automatycznym
systemem tworzenia kopii zapasowych i możliwością podłączenia do 25
urządzeń. Dzięki wbudowanemu serwerowi multimediów możliwe jest
udostępnianie plików w sieci i odtwarzanie strumieniowe np. filmów i
muzyki.
Maszynę wyposażono w dyski WD RAID Edition o pojemności 2 TB i 3 TB.
System z dwoma napędami jest skonfigurowany w trybie RAID 1, a z trzema –
w RAID 5. Dane są dostępne przez Internet z dowolnego miejsca. DX4000
ma dwa złącza ethernetowe. W razie awarii jednego włącza się drugi port.
Kopie zapasowe powstają codziennie. Pełna kopia tworzona jest za
pierwszym razem, a następnie automatycznie wprowadzane są modyfikacje.
WD Sentinel jest kompatybilny m.in. z systemami Windows 7, Vista, XP oraz Mac OS X Leopard i Snow Leopard.
Sugerowana cena detaliczna: DX4000 o pojemności 4 TB – 3,5 tys. zł, 8 TB – 5,5 tys. zł. Dyski mają 3 lata gwarancji.
