Zewnętrzny dysk twardy My Passport Wireless tworzy sieć bezprzewodową, umożliwiając zapisywanie, odczytywanie i udostępnianie danych z pomocą podłączonych urządzeń.
Dysk My Passport Wireless został wyposażony w moduł Wi-Fi w standardzie 802.11n z technologią MIMO, co przyspiesza transfer i zwiększa zasięg połączeń. Nośnik obsługuje w sieci bezprzewodowej do 8 urządzeń jednocześnie. Pozwala na jednoczesne strumieniowanie do czterech filmów HD. Wbudowany akumulator umożliwia według producenta do 6 godz. pracy w trybie strumieniowania, a także do 20 godz. w trybie oczekiwania. Dysk można również podłączyć do komputera za pomocą kabla przez złącze USB 3.0. Gniazdo na karty SD umożliwia zgranie plików z karty bezpośrednio na dysk. Z kolei zintegrowana obsługa protokołu FTP pozwala podłączyć do My Passport Wireless aparaty z Wi-Fi. Użytkownicy dysku mają również dostęp do danych z chmury z pomocą aplikacji mobilnej WD My Cloud (na urządzenia z iOS-em i Androidem), która umożliwia przeglądanie, udostępnianie i odtwarzanie plików przechowywanych na dysku.
Dostępne pojemności My Passport Wireless to 500 GB, 1 TB i 2 TB.
