Nowe modele nośników My Passport mają większą pojemność niż poprzednicy. Zmodyfikowano program do tworzenia kopii zapasowych, jest możliwość personalizacji dysku.
Nowe dyski My Passport Ultra są dostępne w pojemnościach 500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB i 3 TB. Wyposażono je w oprogramowanie do automatycznego tworzenia kopii zapasowych i sprzętowe szyfrowanie danych 256-bitowym kluczem AES. Nośniki mają złącze USB 3.0. Ten sam interfejs zainstalowano w dyskach My Passport for Mac o pojemności 1 TB, 2 TB i 3 TB. Również wyposażono je w szyfrowanie AES 256-bit.
Do serii My Passport Ultra są dostępne zestawy akcesoriów Grip Pack w 5 kolorach – są to miękkie osłony otulające dysk (bumper).
Dyski pojawią się w sprzedaży na przełomie czerwca i lipca. Sugerowane ceny detaliczne My Passport Ultra: 949 zł za model pojemności 3 TB, 499 zł za 2 TB, 329 zł za 1 TB oraz 249 zł za 500 GB. Ceny My Passport for Mac: 2 TB – 549 zł, 1 TB – 349 zł. Gwarancja: 3 lata. Zestaw akcesoriów WD Grip Pack – 79 zł.
