ViewSonic PRO8520HD to projektor, który wyświetla obraz w rozdzielczości Full HD o wysokiej jasności i kontraście.
Jasność obrazu wyświetlanego z PRO8520HD sięga 5000 ANSI lumenów, a współczynnik kontrastu wynosi 15000:1. Urządzenie wyposażono w dwa wejścia VGA, dwa HDMI, wejścia i wyjście audio oraz VGA, a także głośniki o mocy 2 x 10 W. Obraz można przesłać również poprzez złącze USB lub RJ45. Jest możliwość bezprzewodowego połączenia projektora z komputerem, smartfonem lub tabletem za pomocą opcjonalnego modułu WPD-100.
Wśród dostępnych funkcji jest tryb szybkiego włączania i wyłączania, automatyczna korekcja Keystone, możliwość sterowania poprzez sieć LAN (złącze RJ-45). System zarządzania siecią Crestron RoomView pozwala nadzorować pracę maszyny, dostarczając informacje o mocy czy żywotności lampy.
