APC wprowadza unowocześnione wersje zasilaczy Back-UPS ES 550 i 700. Urządzenia zostały wyposażone w funkcję oszczędzania energii. Dzięki technice SmartShedding, gniazdo master urządzeniach rozpoznaje, kiedy komputer został wyłączony lub przełączył się w tryb uśpienia i odcina dopływ prądu do nieużywanych urządzeń.
Zasilacze mają osiem gniazdek, z których wszystkie są chronione przed przepięciami, a 4 z tych gniazd zapewniają ponadto zasilanie bezprzerwowe, umożliwiając pracę podczas krótkich i średnich okresów braku zasilania. Dodatkowo zasilacze Back-UPS ES 550 i 700 oferują ochronę przeciwprzepięciową dla aparatów telefonicznych oraz kabli sieci Ethernet. Port do przesyłania danych umożliwia komunikację z zainstalowaną na komputerze aplikacją PowerChute,
W Polsce jako pierwszy będzie dostępny model Back-UPS ES 700VA w sugerowanej cenie detalicznej 397 zł, model ES 550VA będzie kosztował 339 zł. Zasilacze są chronione gwarancją APC Lifetime Equipment Protection Policy.
