UKE ostrzega przed oszustami

Ktoś próbuje wyłudzić pieniądze od przedsiębiorców – alarmuje urząd. Oszust albo oszuści podszywają się pod UKE, wysyłając pisma z żądaniem zapłaty kary za brak informacji o plikach cookies.

UKE zaprezentował dokument wysłany na początku grudnia, który udaje pismo urzędowe. Zawiera wezwanie do zapłaty 500 zł grzywny pod rygorem wszczęcia egzekucji komorniczej. Powód: adresat rzekomo naruszył przepisy prawa telekomunikacyjnego, które nakazuje właścicielom stron WWW informować internautów o stosowaniu plików cookies (bądź podobnych technologii). Dane UKE widoczne w piśmie są nieprawdziwe, a podany numer konta, na który trzeba dokonać wpłaty, nie należy do urzędu. Nadawca informuje, że jeśli przedsiębiorca w ciągu 5 dni nie dostosuje witryny do obowiązujących przepisów, grozi mu kara w wysokości 3 proc. rocznego przychodu.

UKE informuje, że nie wysyła takich pism. Osobom, które je otrzymały, radzi zawiadomić organy ścigania. Urząd zgłosił już sprawę w prokuraturze.
