Tsinghua Unigroup chce przejąć Microna
Chiński koncern na transakcję zakupu amerykańskiego producenta pamięci przeznaczył 23 mld dol. Sam Micron nie potwierdza, że dostał propozycję wykupu. Wall Street Journal natomiast publikując tę informację powołuje się na „źródła zaznajomione ze sprawą”.
Micron z siedzibą w Boise jest
ostatnim w USA producent szeroko stosowanych pamięci DRAM. Większość
amerykańskich firm wypadła ze tego rynku pod koniec 1980 roku –
przyparta do muru przez konkurencyjne azjatyckie przedsiębiorstwa.
Tsinghua Unigroup natomiast jest już
powiązana z amerykańskimi producentami. W maju stała się
właścicielem pakietu kontrolnego operującego w Chinach oddziału
urządzeń sieciowych HP. Intel natomiast w 2014 r. zakupił 20 proc.
udziałów w Tsinghua Unigroup.
W 2013 r. firma przejęła dwie firmy z
branży układów mobilnych Spreadtrum Communications i RDA
Microelectronics, przez co stała się największym chińskim
przedsiębiorstwem projektującym chipy.
