Toshiba wycofa się z konsumenckiego rynku PC w niektórych krajach
Producent zlikwiduje na świecie 900 miejsc pracy w związku z restrukturyzacją działu PC - informuje Reuters.
Według Reutersa producent zamierza wycofać się rynku komputerowego B2C w niektórych regionach, stąd planowane zwolnienia. Liczba 900 stanowisk to ok. 20 proc. w działach PC firmy, nie licząc zakładów produkcyjnych. Restrukturyzacja według Toshiby zmniejszy zysk operacyjny o 414 mln dol. w bieżącym roku finansowym (zakończy się w marcu 2015 r.), ale powinny ją wyrównać lepsze wyniki innych działów. Producent przewiduje, że dzięki zwolnieniom zaoszczędzi ponad 20 mld jenów (184 mln dol.) w porównaniu z rokiem finansowym 2013/2014.
W ub.r. Toshiba również przeprowadziła redukcje zatrudnienia – zlikwidowano 3 tys. miejsc pracy związanych z działem tv. W lipcu br. firma poinformowała o możliwości zwolnienia kolejnych 300 osób w biznesie telewizyjnym.
