Nowe laptopy z serii Z - Portégé Z30 (13,3 cala), Tecra Z40 (14,4 cale) i Tecra Z50 (15,6 cali) - są dostępne z dyskami HDD i SSD. Urządzenia wyposażono w zabezpieczenia i opcje zdalnego zarządzania.
Wszystkie modele wyposażono w w procesory Intel Core 4. generacji (do i7). Maksymalna pojemność RAM-u wynosi 16 GB. Urządzenia mają m.in. złącza HDMI, trzy porty USB 3.0. Obudowy wykonano ze stopu magnezu.
Portégé Z30 ma opcjonalny ekran dotykowy i napęd SSD o pojemności do 512 GB. Grubość obudowy wynosi 17,9 mm (19,9 mm w modelu dotykowym), a waga urządzenia to 1,2 kg.
Tecra Z40 ma 21 mm grubości i waży 1,47 kg, a Z50 – 1,79 kg. Z40 i Z50 są oferowane w wersjach z nośnikami HDD (o pojemności do 500 GB) i SSD (do 512 GB mSATA).
Nowe modele mają zabezpieczenia i opcje zarządzania takie jak TPM oraz Intel Active Management Technology (AMT), która umożliwia działowi IT monitorowanie, aktualizowanie i modernizację laptopa. Czytnik linii papilarnych jest standardowym wyposażeniem. Opcjonalnie można zainstalować czytnik kart inteligentnych.
