Tech Data zamiast Computer 2000
1 stycznia Computer 2000 Polska zmienił swą nazwę na Tech Data Polska Sp. z o.o. Jest to konsekwencją transakcji z 1998 r. pomiędzy większościowym udziałowcem Computer 2000 AG - firmą VIAG, a amerykańskim dystrybutorem branży IT - firmą Tech Data
1 stycznia Computer 2000 Polska zmienił swą nazwę na Tech Data Polska Sp. z o.o. Jest to konsekwencją transakcji z 1998 r. pomiędzy większościowym udziałowcem Computer 2000 AG – firmą VIAG, a amerykańskim dystrybutorem branży IT – firmą Tech Data z siedzibą w Clearwater na Florydzie.
W wyniku tego przedsięwzięcia amerykański dystrybutor, obecny dotąd poza Stanami Zjednoczonymi tylko w Niemczech, Francji i Brazylii, wszedł na rynki większości państw Europy, Ameryki Południowej i Bliskiego Wschodu. Po dwóch latach, które upłynęły od transakcji i poświęcone były ujednoliceniu struktur zarządzania i organizacji, firma zdecydowała się na zmianę nazwy swoich oddziałów.
