Seagate wprowadził na rynek dwie nowe serie twardych dysków – Cheetah 36ES i Cheetah X15-36LP. Dyski będą w sprzedaży w drugim kwartale br.
Talerze dysków z serii Cheetah 36ES mają szybkość obrotową wynoszącą 10 tys. obr./min. Napędy mają interfejs Ultra320 SCSI. Dostępne są w wersja o pojemnościach 18,4 i 36,7 GB. Sugerowane ceny detaliczne napędów 18 GB (ST318406) wynoszą 335 dol., a dysków 36 GB (ST336706) – 550 dol.
Cheetah X15-36LP to seria dysków drugiej generacji rodziny Cheetah X15. Szybkość obrotowa talerzy wynosi 15 tys. obr./min. Napędy dostępne są z interfejsami Ultra320 SCSI i 2 Gb Fibre Channel, które zapewniają również zgodność z interfejsami Ultra160 SCSI i 1Gb Fibre Channel. Napędy Cheetah X15-36LP mają pięcioletnią gwarancję. Ceny dysków 18 GB (ST318352) wynoszą 395 dol., a dysków 36 GB (ST336752) – 750 dol.
