Na inwestycje w sieci szerokopasmowe będzie w sumie blisko 9 mld zł w najbliższych latach. Zasilane deszczem pieniędzy inwestycje ruszają z kopyta.
Według PAP kwota 4,5 mld zł jest dostępna w ramach regionalnych programów operacyjnych, programu Innowacyjna Gospodarka oraz Rozwój Polski Wschodniej. Dodatkowo kolejne ponad 4 mld zł (1 mld euro) pójdą na budowę sieci w ramach programu Polska Cyfrowa. Pieniądze są przeznaczone na tworzenie sieci szkieletowych tam, gdzie nie opłaca się wejść operatorom komercyjnym. Szef MAC, Andrzej Halicki, zapewnił, że ostatnio udało się przełamać impas i inwestycje nabrały tempa – dotychczas zbudowano ponad 17 tys. km sieci szerokopasmowych, w ciągu 3 kwartałów br. ma powstać kolejne 28 tys. km. Tylko w styczniu położono 2,5 tys. km sieci. Najwięcej powstało w ramach sieci małopolskiej – 1,9 tys. km.
