Synology: serwer NAS na osiem dysków
Producent zaprezentował DiskStation DS1813+ - serwer NAS przeznaczony dla małych i średnich firm.
DS1813+ wyposażono w dwurdzeniowy procesor (2,13 GHz), 2 GB RAM-u DDR3 (do 4 GB). Maksymalna wewnętrzna pojemność to 32 TB (8 x 4 TB). Po podłączeniu jednostek rozszerzających DX513 przez eSATA pojemność wzrasta do 72 TB. Urządzenie ma 4 konfigurowalne porty Gigabit LAN. Z funkcją link aggregation, w trybie RAID 5 w systemie Windows średnie prędkości odczytu danych według producenta przekraczają 350 MB/s, a zapisu – 210 MB/s.
Serwer obsługuje protokół iSCSI, może działać w wirtualnych środowiskach, m.in. VMware vSphere 5, Citrix XenServer oraz Microsoft Windows Server 2012 z Hyper-V. Wśród dostępnych opcji jest możliwość współdzielenia drukarki, serwer VPN, poczty elektronicznej oraz sieci WEB.
Urządzenie ma mechanizm hot-swap, redundantny system wentylatorów oraz portów LAN. Funkcja Synology High Availability (SHA) umożliwia przejęcie obciążeń innego, uszkodzonego serwera.
