DiskStation DS115j to serwer NAS z jedną kieszenią na dyski, który może działać jak magazyn danych lub sieciowy rejestrator wideo.
Urządzenie wyposażono w procesor Marvell Armada 370 (800 MHz) i 256 MB RAM-u. Można w nim umieścić dyski w rozmiarze 3,5 lub 2,5 cala (w tym drugim wypadku potrzebny jest opcjonalny stelaż). Serwer cechuje prędkość odczytu danych na poziomie 103 MB/sek. w środowisku Windows. (o 28 proc. więcej od poprzednika). Z wbudowaną jednostką zmiennoprzecinkową (FPU) DS115j zwiększa wydajność aplikacji multimedialnych.
Maszyna może działać jak sieciowy rejestrator wideo dzięki aplikacji Synology Surveillance Station. Użytkownik może skorzystać z 2 darmowych licencji do obsługi kamer IP, w sumie można podłączyć 5 kamer.
DS115j pobiera 3,85 watów energii w trybie hibernacji dysków twardych oraz poniżej 13 watów podczas pracy. Gdy jest włączony, generuje hałas na poziomie 18,1 dB(A).
