Smartwatche – teatr jednego aktora
W IV kwartale ubiegłego roku producenci sprzedali 9 milionów smartwatchy - informuje agencja badawcza Canalys.
Ostatni kwartał ubiegłego roku był bardzo udany dla Apple. Producent sprzedał 6 milionów smartwatchy z nadgryzionym jabłuszkiem o łącznej wartości 2,6 mld dolarów. Ogółem w czwartym kwartale 2016 roku przychody w tym segmencie rynku nieznacznie przekroczyły 3 mld dolarów.
W 2016 roku Apple upłynniło 11,9 mln smartwatchy, co daje 49 procentowy udział w globalnym rynku. Drugą lokatę w zestawieniu rocznym zajmuje Fitbit (17 procent) oraz Samsung (15 procent). Canalys spodziewa się w najbliższych miesiącach ofensywy Samsunga, który wprowadzi do sprzedaży modele Gear S3 Classic oraz Frontier.
