Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa, operator sieci Era GSM (6.02 PKiN), zakończyła jeden z ostatnich etapów budowy ogólnopolskiej sieci szkieletowej SDH (Synchronous Diital Hierarchy) - jednego z najważniejszych elementów systemu GSM
Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa, operator sieci Era GSM (6.02 PKiN), zakończyła jeden z ostatnich etapów budowy ogólnopolskiej sieci szkieletowej SDH (Synchronous Diital Hierarchy) – jednego z najważniejszych elementów systemu GSM. Obecnie sieć składa się z 13 łączy długodystansowych o całkowitej długości 2600 km i 128 stacji. Sieć łączy 12 miast, w których znajdują się centrale MSC (Mobile Switching Center).
Sieć SDH budowana jest we współpracy z firmą Ericsson. To największa tego typu instalacja w Polsce, pozwalająca na osiągnięcie szybkości transmisji na poziomie 2*155 Mbit/s. Sieć będzie obsługiwała ruch w sieci telefonii komórkowej, dzięki niej Era będzie też oferować usługi szybkiej transmisji danych.
