Samsung: smartphone’y z podwójnym LTE
Samsung jako pierwszy producent wprowadzi do oferty smartphone’y Galaxy S4 i S4 mini działające w dwóch trybach LTE (TDD/FDD).
Nowe wersje smartphone’ów Galaxy S4 i Galaxy S4 S4 mini obsługują tryby TDD-LTE (Time-Division Duplex) i FDD-LTE (Frequency Division Duplex), co według producenta zapewni płynne połączenia głosowe i wymianę danych także wtedy, gdy urządzenie przełącza się z jednego typu sieci LTE na inny.
Jak na razie większa część operatorów wykorzystuje technologię FDD-LTE, prognozowany jest natomiast wzrost znaczenia TDD-LTE m.in. w Europie Północnej i Wschodniej.
Ceny i dostępność nowych wersji Galaxy S4 i S4 mini w Polsce nie są jeszcze znane.
Według Strategy Analytics, światowy rynek urządzeń LTE będzie rozwijał się w średnim tempie 20 proc. rocznie – w 2013 r. w użyciu powinno być 270 mln urządzeń, w 2017 r. będzie 680 mln.
