Samsung: netbook z systemem Google’a
Samsung zaprezentował laptopa z serii 5, oferowanego pod marką Google Chromebook. Urządzenie wyposażono w 12,1-calowy ekran, system operacyjny Chrome OS i pamięć flash.
W Chromebooku zainstalowano dwurdzeniowy procesor Intel Atom N570 (1,66 GHz), 2 GB RAM i napęd SSD o pojemności 16 GB. Matowy wyświetlacz z powłoką antyrefleksyjną ma rozdzielczość 1280×800 pikseli i jasność 300 cd/m kw. Komputer waży 1,48 kg. W obudowie znajdują się 2 porty USB, miniVGA z przejściówką, czytnik kart pamięci, slot na kartę SIM.
Netbook ma preinstalowany system operacyjny Google Chrome OS. Niektóre przyciski w wyspowej klawiaturze przeznaczono do obsługi wyszukiwarki Google’a – uruchamia ją np. klawisz umieszczony w miejscu Caps Locka, usunięto przycisk Windows. Netbook może pracować na baterii do 8,5 godziny.
Samsung Series 5 Chromebook na początek trafił do sprzedaży w kilku krajach Europy Zachodniej. Na pozostałych rynkach powinien pojawić się w ciągu kilku miesięcy. Sugerowana cena detaliczna brutto modelu z modułem Wi-Fi – 399 euro (1596 zł przy kursie 4 zł za 1 euro), z modemem 3 G – 449 euro (1796 zł).
