Ruszy pierwsza w Polsce komercyjna sieć 5G
Plus ogłosił, że w I kw. 2020 r. uruchomi sieć 5G w co najmniej 7 miastach.
Polkomtel rozpoczyna budowę pierwszej w Polsce komercyjnej sieci 5G w Warszawie, Gdańsku, Katowicach, Łodzi, Poznaniu, Szczecinie i Wrocławiu. W I kw. 2020 r. planuje uruchomienie ok. 100 stacji bazowych, wyposażonych w sprzęt Nokii i Ericssona. Komunikacja będzie działać w paśmie 2600 MHz (2570-2620 MHz) TDD (Time Division Duplex). TDD pozwala na przesyłanie danych z wykorzystaniem jednego, wspólnego fragmentu pasma do naprzemiennego w czasie transferu downlink/uplink. Według operatora przy użyciu technologii MIMO 4×4 i QAM256 prędkość przekroczy 500 Mb/s.
Zgodnie z założeniami Europejskiej Agendy Cyfrowej komercyjna sieć 5G do końca 2020 r. powinna działać w co najmniej w jednym mieście kraju.
Urząd Komunikacji Elektronicznej szykuje się do ogłoszenia aukcji na 4 rezerwacje częstotliwości 5G w paśmie pasma 3480-3800 MHz. Proponowana cena wywoławcza to 450 mln zł za każdą rezerwację, czyli w sumie 1,8 mld zł.
