QNAP: pierwszy NAS z Thunderbolt 2
QNAP zaprezentował Turbo vNAS TVS-871T – według producenta to pierwszy na rynku NAS z interfejsem Thunderbolt 2, umożliwia korzystanie z sieci o przepustowości do 20 Gb/s i wideo o rozdzielczości 4K.
Turbo vNAS TVS-871T może pracować w trybie DAS (Direct-attached storage, podłączony bezpośrednio do komputera z portem Thunderbolt 2) oraz NAS (jako dysk sieciowy). Mieści 8 dysków, które można wymieniać podczas pracy. TVS-871T wyposażono w procesor Intel Haswell (Core i5 lub i7), 2 porty 10GbE, 4 1GbE, 2 porty Thunderbolt 2, 3 porty USB 3.0, 1 HDMI. Można do niego bezpośrednio podłączyć wyświetlacz 4K, a także mysz i klawiaturę. Urządzenie jest kompatybilne z obudowami rozszerzającymi TX-500P oraz TX-800P, co pozwala zwiększyć maksymalną pojemność do 448 TB. Wśród zabezpieczeń jest szyfrowanie AES-NI.
