HS-251+ to serwer NAS z pasywnym chłodzeniem, dzięki temu pracuje cicho. Mieści 2 dyski o pojemności do 8 TB.
NAS został wyposażony w czterordzeniowy procesor Intel Celeron (2,0 GHz) i 2 GB RAM DDR3L. Został zaprojektowany na użytek domowy, stąd odpowiedni design i brak wiatraka. Dzięki temu szum nie przeszkadza przy odtwarzaniu filmów czy muzyki z serwera.
HS-251+ pracuje pod kontrolą systemu QTS 4.2. Interfejs dostępny z przeglądarki pozwala na organizację i udostępnianie multimediów, backup plików oraz synchronizację z innymi urządzeniami domowymi, takimi jak telefony, komputery. NAS jest kompatybilny ze standardami Bluetooth, USB, HDMI, DLNA, Apple TV oraz Chromecast, co pozwala na strumieniowe odtwarzanie zdjęć, muzyki i filmów z różnych urządzeń.
W serwerze można umieścić dwa dyski o pojemności do 8 TB i połączyć je w konfiguracji RAID 0 lub RAID 1. Dzięki obudowom rozszerzającym, takim jak ośmiozatokowa UX-800P czy pięciozatokowa UX-500P, pojemność można powiększyć do 80 TB. NAS ma dwa porty USB 3.0, dwa Gigabit LAN, wyjście HDMI.
