Pionierski projekt za wielkie pieniądze – 390 mln zł na Internet na Lubelszczyźnie
W województwie lubelskim do 2014 r. ma powstać 3 tys. km sieci szerokopasmowej. Budżet inwestycji wynosi prawie 390 mln zł.
Lokalny samorząd chce zapewnić dostęp do Internetu instytucjom, administracji, przedsiębiorstwom i użytkownikom na obszarach, gdzie nie opłaca się inwestować operatorom komercyjnym. Pionierski projekt jest realizowany w ramach programu rozwoju wschodniej Polski. Budżet w wysokości 389 mln zł w 70 proc. pochodzi z dotacji unijnych. W ciągu 3 lat zostanie zbudowana sieć szkieletowa o długości 3 tys. km, w której powstanie 14 węzłów szkieletowych i blisko 300 dystrybucyjnych. Właścicielem sieci będzie samorząd, nie wykluczono jednak zarządzania przez firmę, która zrealizuje inwestycję.
