Nvidia: konsola 4K z Androidem
Producent zaprezentował konsolę Shield z procesorem Tegra X1. Zapewnia, że jest to pierwsza na świecie konsola z systemem Android TV, która umożliwia wyświetlanie filmów, słuchanie muzyki, uruchamianie gier i aplikacji na ekranie telewizora.
Urządzenie wyposażono w procesor Tegra X1 z 256-rdzeniowym procesorem graficznym Maxwell, 3 GB RAM-u i 16 GB wbudowanej pamięci.
Konsola umożliwia wyświetlanie obrazu w rozdzielczości 4K / UltraHD z prędkością do 60 klatek na sekundę (obsługa standardów VP9, H265, H264). Pozwala na odtwarzanie dźwięku o częstotliwości próbkowania do 24-bitów/192 kHz poprzez HDMI i USB. Dźwięk może być emitowany w systemie 7.1 i 5.1.
Łączność bezprzewodową zapewnia moduł Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Shield ma także Bluetooth 4.1 oraz łącza Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0, dwa USB 3.0 (Typ A), mikro-USB 2.0, gniazdo kart mikro-SD (do 128 GB), odbiornik podczerwieni (zgodny z Logitech Harmony)
Według producenta zostanie udostępnionych ponad 50 tytułów gier na konsolę Shield, w tym popularne tytuły jak Crysis 3, Doom 3: BFG Edition, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
Grać można również z pomocą usługi strumieniowania GRID. Subskrybenci GRID-a otrzymają dostęp do 50 gier (m.in. Batman: Arkham Origins, GRID 2, Metro: Last Light Redux). Nvidia zapowiada, że każdego tygodnia będą dochodzić nowe tytuły.
Konsola Shield pojawi się w sprzedaży od w maju. Ceny rozpoczynają się od 199 dol. (742,27 zł po kursie 3,73 zł za 1 dol.) za model z kontrolerem.
